When you think about what it would be like to work at Amtrak our many passenger-facing employees may come to mind, right?
However, some of our employees provide behind-the-scenes support at the corporate level. From Marketing, Government Affairs, Employee Communications, IT and Human Resources we offer career options at all experience levels. Amtrak employees power our progress through their dedication, performance, and passion and sets us apart from any other travel provider.
Last week the Amtrak talent acquisition team joined our IT leadership in Atlanta for a special invite only networking event with local IT professionals. And, oh, what a success it was!
Dave Hudson, Chief Business Strategy Officer, led the event with a dynamic presentation outlining Amtrak’s history and current IT Transformation. The turnout was more than impressive. More than 30 diverse, top-notch local IT candidates from all levels attended the event as well as representatives from prestigious local colleges including Georgia Tech and the Georgia Institute of Technology were also in attendance.
Amtrak’s IT vision is simple: “To be a World Class IT team that proactively delivers cost-effective Business Solutions and Services that exceed our Business Partner’s and Customer’s expectations.” Though our vision is simple, achieving this vision requires passionate, dedicated and talented IT professionals that love a challenge.
Our IT group supports a unique business environment that spans from mainframes to cutting edge security and mobile devices. Our systems cover everything from logistics to reservations, to supply-chain and food and beverage. Whether your interest lies in ERPs like our SAP system or custom applications like our award winning mobile application, Amtrak IT has the work to keep you challenged, excited, and learning something new every day!
