Our people are the foundation of our success and as the need for talent continues to increase we are thrilled to be ushering in the new Success Factors Recruiting Management System (RMS).
The implementation team has been working diligently since September of 2013 to build this new system which addresses many of the issues that we have been experiencing with our current system, chief among them… stability, access, communication and updated accurate information.
This new system, in conjunction with our new career site will create an inviting environment where talented individuals can come to learn about Amtrak, seek out opportunities and information about where their skills can benefit Amtrak and how those skills can be enhanced throughout their Amtrak tenure. Whether you’re an incumbent or new to Amtrak, the system will create a seamless approach to highlighting career opportunities.
RMS benefits several audiences including, applicants, candidates, hiring managers, and Amtrak Talent Acquisition Advisors. As a result, RMS will enable each audience to view activities with ease and allow for updates, editing, approvals and overall communication – throughout the recruitment process.
Applicants (internal and external) will now be directed to create a profile with information that highlights their skills and experience. RMS will capture all of the pertinent details that Talent Acquisition needs to determine whether an Applicant should be considered for one of our positions. They will be encouraged to attach their resume and cover letter for review. In addition, applicants will have an opportunity to set up alerts to inform them of future positions which may be of interest based on the alert criteria they have selected.
Candidates (internal and external) will enjoy a higher level of transparency as RMS allows them to see every job to which they have applied for and their status. They will be able to update their profiles and will receive timely communication regarding each job they have applied to so that they know whether they are moving forward in the process or not. If they are fortunate enough to receive an offer to join the Amtrak team, they will be able to accept it electronically, and immediately provide details, allowing us to begin the hiring process and prepare for their arrival.
Hiring Managers will have a new level of insight as to the status of their open requisitions. In addition to forms being consolidated electronically for efficiency, Hiring Managers will have the ability to utilize their personal dashboard which will tell them exactly which requisitions are open, and require action, as well as where candidates are in the process. Most importantly, they will be able to approve offers electronically before they are made and know the instant a candidate accepts the offer. They will receive notifications alerting them to updates, as well as items that require their attention.
Talent Acquisition (our recruiters!) will enjoy having a stable system that ensures that all candidates and customers have up-to-date information. There will be new electronic screening mechanisms in place to better assess and review for qualified applicants. They will be able to forward the best candidates to the hiring managers for review and set up interviews once it is determined that the candidate has met all of the requirements. The efficiency of RMS will allow Talent Acquisition Advisors to spend more time on sourcing and screening appropriate candidates which will enable them to deliver higher quality candidates to the Hiring Managers for final selection.
